Highlights

 We are on-board with Fasnap!  Scalise Marine has shipped quite a few orders of DOT fasteners, always a good seller, but in order to become even more competitive, we now carry Fasnap fasteners.  They are compatible in every way with the DOT fasteners only more competitively priced for both Nickel/Brass and Stainless Steel varieties.  We now carry snap caps in color!   We have made changes in our tool prices thanks to this new relationship, now you can save even more money.

Lowlights

 We have been very happy with our Paiho Hook and Loop tape, it has superior adhesion over most other hook and loop products we have tested.  Recently, we found that the glue on the adhesive version does not seem to stand up to the sun/heat very well.  The Acrylic adhesive Paiho has been removed altogether from our line-up.  In it's place, we are offering the Fasgrip brand High Temperature Acrylic adhesive version.  We will be stocking 1" and 2" widths, 50 yards per roll, in black or white only.

 The Sew-on Paiho will remain available in all colors and sizes.

New Products

 In an effort to keep offering only the best items to our customers without becoming just another marine store carrying the same lines as everyone else, we keep accepting unique items for testing.  Everything on our site is either personally tested by us or recommended by customers as being the best for the application. 

 The Mer-maids have passed the test; we picked up the full-line.   You can help us decide whether or not to bring a new item to market by giving feedback on the Mer-maid decorative soap (pictured on the Mer-maid page).  Carol, the head Mer-maid, makes these herself.  It is a bar soap with a soap 3D mermaid figurine on top and glitter about the tail.  Mine is the first sample she released and we are soliciting input on whether this would be a hit or not. 

 Another item we have put through the paces is called DCS Formula 19.  It is a fabric protector good for ANY fabric from silk to carpeting to leather.  It was developed for high-end apparel but has become a hit in the marine industry too for its waterproofing properties.  Use it to keep your furniture, carpets, canvas, clothing, or any other fabric waterproof and stain resistant.  One application lasts for years. 

In the Works

 Pure Ayre - Although not on the shelves yet, this odor eliminator is impressive!  Another product on the market in this category is Febreeze but don't confuse one with the other.  Pure Ayre is so much more than just a fabric freshener.  It uses enzymes rather than chemicals to remove stale odors from the air and furnishings.  These plant-derived enzymes seek out odor causing agents and neutralize them.  It is effective against odors caused by pets, fish, diesel fuel, bathrooms, wastewater, cigarettes, cooking, etc.

 When first contacted about Pure Ayre for evaluation, I thought I would throw in an extreme test case, my mother's house.  Mom was unfortunate enough to be in the path of three hurricanes last season, taking direct hits from each.  Most of her roof was torn off, the walls and floors were soaked and mildew set in with the heat of central Florida and no air conditioning due to electrical outages and flooding.  The house was repaired but the musty smell remained.  We set her up with a bottle of Pure Ayre with the stipulation that she try it out and give us a full report.   The report was extremely favorable!!   The mustiness is gone and the house is fresh again!  With this feedback, we will be carrying Pure Ayre on our shelves soon.
